Nevertheless, the mining industry have experienced some changes, such as: high volatility in commodity prices, resulting from the growing demand and political and economic crisis, as well as technological changes that have allowed for exploring/operating reserves that used to be unattainable, high safety and environmental awareness, among other things. Chile holds the lead in mining development. However, the financial and private capital sector has not advanced at the same speed.
